چکیده

We present a new stellar evolution code and a set of results, demonstrating its capability at calculating full evolutionary tracks for a wide range of masses and metallicities. The code is fast and efficient, and is capable of following through all evolutionary phases, without interruption or human intervention. It is meant to be used also in the context of modeling the evolution of dense stellar systems, for performing live calculations for both normal star models and merger-products. The code is based on a fully implicit, adaptive-grid numerical scheme that solves simultaneously for structure, mesh and chemical composition. Full details are given for the treatment of convection, equation of state, opacity, nuclear reactions and mass loss. Results of evolutionary calculations are shown for a solar model that matches the characteristics of the present sun to an accuracy of better than 1%; a 1 M⊙ model for a wide range of metallicities; a series of models of stellar populations I and II, for the mass range 0.25 to 64M⊙, followed from pre-main-sequence to a cool white dwarf or core collapse. An initial finalmass relationship is derived and compared with previous studies. Finally, we briefly address the evolution of non-canonical configurations, merger-products of low-mass main-sequence parents.

Optimization of Starburst99 for Intermediate-Age and Old Stellar Populations

We have incorporated the latest release of the Padova models into the evolutionary synthesis code Starburst99. The Padova tracks were extended to include the full asymptotic giant branch (AGB) evolution until the final thermal pulse over the mass range 0.9 to 5 M⊙. With this addition, Starburst99 accounts for all stellar phases that contribute to the integrated light of a stellar population wit...

Structure and Evolution of Nearby Stars with Planets Ii. Physical Properties of ∼ 1000 Cool Stars from the Spocs Catalog

We derive detailed theoretical models for 1074 nearby stars from the SPOCS (Spectroscopic Properties of Cool Stars) Catalog. The California and Carnegie Planet Search has obtained high-quality (R ≃ 70000− 90000, S/N ≃ 3− 500) echelle spectra of over 1000 nearby stars taken with the Hamilton spectrograph at Lick Observatory, the HIRES spectrograph at Keck, and UCLES at the Anglo Australian Obser...

Revision of Star-Formation Measures

Rotation plays a major role in the evolution of massive stars. A revised grid of stellar evolutionary tracks accounting for rotation has recently been released by the Geneva group and implemented into the Starburst99 evolutionary synthesis code. Massive stars are predicted to be hotter and more luminous than previously thought, and the spectral energy distributions of young populations mirror t...

Multiobjective Imperialist Competitive Evolutionary Algorithm for Solving Nonlinear Constrained Programming Problems

Nonlinear constrained programing problem (NCPP) has been arisen in diverse range of sciences such as portfolio, economic management etc.. In this paper, a multiobjective imperialist competitive evolutionary algorithm for solving NCPP is proposed. Firstly, we transform the NCPP into a biobjective optimization problem. Secondly, in order to improve the diversity of evolution country swarm, and he...

An internet server for pre-main sequence tracks of low- and intermediate-mass stars

We present new grids of pre-main sequence (PMS) tracks for stars in the mass range 0.1 to 7.0 M . The computations were performed for four different metallicities (Z=0.01, 0.02, 0.03 and 0.04). A fifth table has been computed for the solar composition (Z=0.02), including a moderate overshooting. We describe the update in the physics of the Grenoble stellar evolution code which concerns mostly c...
